We know our team members’ career desires are as diverse as the 18-county region of western North Carolina that Mission Health calls home. And because it’s often not one thing, but the rich combinations of people, places and opportunities that set Mission Health apart, we’ve put some of our favorite answers to that question here.
Mission believes everyone has unique talents and gifts. By partnering with The Marcus Buckingham Company™, we are on a journey to train all our managers on how to identify the top two strengths for everyone on their team by implementing StandOut across the organization. No more annual performance evaluations – with StandOut, our team members and their leaders learn to operate from their strengths every day.
Many Differences, One Mission. Mission Health is committed to diversity, inclusion and health equity by fostering a culture that values differences and similarities. Our standard of practice is to exist as a fair, equitable, healthy and inclusive organization that aligns with and supports our patients, our workforce and the communities that we serve.

Building capacity. The Center for Leadership and Professional Development (CLPD) builds individual, team and leadership capacity through consultation, facilitation, coaching, organizational development and onboarding new team members into the Mission Health culture.
Head of the class. Members of Mission Health’s leadership team don’t just lead our organization, but have established themselves as thought leaders for the healthcare industry. Our leaders take seriously their commitment to make healthcare better for the people of our community and for the wider world.

We know it’s the people who make a Great Place to Work and Practice. Each of us has unique talents and gifts, and our role is to create a place where everyone can shine. It starts with inspirational leaders, and a hiring philosophy that seeks just the right fit. It grows through a conversation culture where we share information and listen to one another, and through resources to support each team member’s development. Our distinctive benefits demonstrate how we care for one another, and this in turn enables us to share that caring with the community. We are building a culture of recognition, thankfulness, and celebrating our successes. Come be a part of this journey!
