Job Summary: Observes telemetry/cardiac monitors continuously, performs accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using interval measurements, and documents and reports cardiac rhythm tracings to nursing staff. Identify and responds to potentially life-threating rhythm changes, Spo2 changes and responds to all monitor alarms. Continuously monitors Cerner Patient Observer 'CPO,' recognizes patient movement and proactively alerts nurses and other care givers in an effort to prevent adverse events including: patient falls, patient elopement, patient safety, suspicious behavior and visitor monitoring. Position is contingent on completion of 4 weeks of orientation and successfully passing a rhythm interpretation assessment.
Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
