The ideal candidate will recognize the importance of professionalism and teamwork, and will be knowledgeable and confident in the areas of Ultrasound, exceptional patient care, leadership skills, and creating the best possible environment to accomplish specific goals of the Mission Hospital Ultrasound services.  Our imaging department is committed to patient safety and minimizing radiation exposure, while ensuring superior image quality. As part of this dedicated commitment, the ACR recently recognized our imaging department as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.  

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assist in the oversight of the Ultrasound Staff in the General Ultrasound,
    Interventional Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Emergency Department Ultrasound, High Risk OB Ultrasound, as well as Pediatrics Ultrasound at the Reuter's OP center, NICU, and IP. 
  • Perform Exams/Procedures on a daily basis,
  • Manage Staff Work Schedule, Weekly Staff Rotation, Productivity, Order Supplies
  • Train New and Current Team Members on education needed for exams performed in the department
  • Communicate with ancillary departments and teams as needed

 

Ultrasound Supervisor Job Summary: Provides efficient oversight of daily assigned modality (s) operations, appropriate staffing, and patient care processes. Acts as a role model for service excellence. Ensures continuous improvements in quality departmental services. Organizes and assists with training of staff, new hires, and student internships. Affects patient outcomes by safely performing imaging studies. Demonstrates appropriate modality screening procedures while maintaining the safety of patients, visitors, and staff that enter the imaging areas/suites. Knowledgeable of equipment and supplies needed to ensure appropriate imaging. Coordinates effective schedules by organizing departmental resources and coordinating with key stakeholders. Demonstrates stewardship in regard to financial resources.

 

Required Education: Graduate of a Credentialled Ultrasound Program

 

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree healthcare or related field.

 

Required License: Must be ARDMS-Abdomen, OB/Gyn as well as RVT or CCCI registered.

 

Preferred License: Advanced modality registry

 

Required Experience: Experience as a registered sonographer working in a multi-disciplined Imaging Department. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, leadership skills, skills managing quality improvement and staff productivity.

 

Preferred Experience: 3 years of imaging supervisory experience in multi-disciplined Imaging Department. Clinical experience with current technology for imaging department and associated specialty services provided by the department.
