Mission Hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Center and the ONLY trauma center for 19 counties in Western North Carolina. We have 6 Emergency Departments in our system and this is our main flagship ED in Asheville, NC. It has 94 beds and we see about 300 patients a day as a comprehensive Stroke Center and Top 50 Cardiovascular hospital in the nation. Our ED also has a unique program for trauma nursing, forensic nursing as well as an in-house air medical team with two helicopters. Job Summary: Provides leadership by coordinating management activities and care delivery for a single patient care unit.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing must sign agreement to obtain BSN within 6 years of the hire date in to position. Nurses who are nearing the end of their professional career may be exempted from this
Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Compact license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON; BCLS
Preferred License: National Certification in area
Required Experience: Emergency Department experience of more than 1 year
Preferred Experience: Three to five years of Emergency Department experience
