Job Summary: Supports department by disassembling, cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, testing, and storing procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique. Also, by completing requests to dispense equipment and supplies, assisting and processing patient charge records and maintaining department inventory. Uses chemicals and appropriate PPE as established protocols and procedures.
Required Education: High School graduate or GED
Preferred Education: Sterile Processing Training or Surgical Technician Training
Required License: SPD Technician Certification or Surgical Technician Certification or obtain within one year of being eligible to sit for the exam (typically after one year of employment).

Required Experience: None
Preferred Experience: One to two years as SPD Technician or equivalent
