The Director - Case Management Mission Hospital has the overall responsibility for managing and coordinating department activities. The Director ensures staff compliance with organizational policies and external regulatory agencies and takes leadership responsibility to coordinate the integration of the department's patient care and discharge planning processes with related hospital departments and external agencies to ensure continuity of care and optimal clinical resource utilization. The Director has oversight for all aspects of daily hospital case management operations and is accountable for achieving established outcomes through actively engaging interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. The Director is a registered nurse with twenty-four hour (24) seven responsibility for all operational aspects of the Department.
Required Education: BSN, MSN or masters in related field required within 3 years
Preferred Education: MSN
Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.BCLS may be required for those leaders providing patient care.
Preferred License: Certification in Care Management. (ACMA certification preferred).
Required Experience: Three years of supervisory experience in inpatient hospital care. Three years hospital case management experience. Requires professional level of knowledge of case management, healthcare administration and utilization review. Must be self-motivated, outcome oriented, and possess the ability to effectively communicate and work well with all levels of the business. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, e-mail.
Preferred Experience: Five years of hospital case management and/or utilization management preferred. Five years prior Manager/Director experience specifically in hospital case management preferred.
