Mission Health in Asheville, NC is looking for a Nurse Scientist Scholar to join the Nursing Education Team!

Experience working in Magnet organizations or organizations that are on a Magnet journey is a plus for this role.


Role Summary:
Conducts independent, scientific, studies and research in the field of nursing. The primary focus of the nurse scientist includes: 1.) provide leadership in development, coordination, management of clinical research studies; 2.) provide mentorship for nurses and health professionals in research and evidence based projects; 3.) contribute to overall health science literature; 4.) develop a portfolio of independent research to achieve the primary objectives.

Required Education: PhD/DNP in Nursing, or related field (Must have BSN &/or MSN if PhD/DNP is not in nursing). Would consider person in final stages of completing doctoral work (candidacy) with degree completion within defined time frame, not to exceed 2 years.


Required License: Current licensure as Registered Nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing or Compact State as defined by NC Board of Nursing


Required Experience: 5 years of active clinical experience in service line/area; Experience with nursing research program highly desirable; publication experience highly desirable.


Preferred Experience: Completed dissertation and post graduate research; experience with grant writing and managing the grants process.
