Conduct independent and collaborative scientific, studies and research related to the care of the trauma injured patient. Collaborate and consult in the management of complex patient and family care by demonstrating clinical expertise within Trauma program through the integration of advanced skills, knowledge, competencies, and practice. Introduce and utilize evidence-based practice, standards of care, and research to transform practice within the workforce and organization to enhance quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency. Facilitate change that is diverse and sensitive to the internal/external needs of the organization. Foster professional performance and influence healthcare initiatives to generate positive patient outcomes. Upholds professional standards of nursing practice as determined by the NCBON, the American College of Surgeons, the North Carolina Office of EMS, and the American Nurses Association Standards for Nursing Professional Development (2010). Exemplifies the mission and vision for Mission Hospital, Nursing, and the Department of Nursing Practice, Education and Research.
Required Education: Masters of Science in Nursing
Preferred Education: PhD/DNP in Nursing, or related field, Certification in specialty area by recognized national nursing organization; North Carolina Board of Nursing CNS recognition.
Required License/ Certifications: Current Licensure as Registered Nurse with North Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state as defined by NC Board of Nursing.
Preferred License/Certifications: National certification as clinical nurse specialist
Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in designated or related specialty.
Preferred Experience: Preferred experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or intensive care. Effective speaker before large and small groups. Proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders.
