The nutrition assistant delivers nutrition care under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian (RD). The nutrition assistant functions within their scope of practice when conducting nutrition screening and providing support as needed to the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of participants. The nutrition assistant is responsible for maintaining a standard of patient care and kitchen operations as established by the local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: AAS (Associate of Applied Science) or BS in Nutrition.Required License/
Certification: Serve Safe (willing to train if not certified)
Preferred License: Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) or eligible, OR successful completion ofthe didactic portion of an ADA-accredited Dietetics Program
