Overview
Highlands Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, North Carolina is seeking a
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS or MT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)
to join our team of Clinical Laboratory professionals!
Job Summary: Performs both routine and complex lab analyses and/or identification procedures on blood, tissue, and body fluids with minimal supervision. Assists management in monitoring quality control data to ensure results or procedures are accurate and precise.
Required Education: Bachelors or Associates degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution.
Required License: Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP, HEW, AMT, or NCA. If not certified at time of hire, must become certified by ASCP as a Medical Laboratory Scientist within the 1st year of employment.
Required Experience: Clinical rotation as MLS or MLT student. One year post graduate Laboratory experience

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson and the surrounding counties. Located on Highway 64 between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center.
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has 24 beds for acute care services and 80 beds in the Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care practices serving both Highlands and Cashiers.
