Qualification and Application Process

Qualification and Application Process

The application deadline for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program is January 1, 2019.

Requirements for Application

Applications for the 2019-2020 year will be accepted in November 2018 using the online PhORCAS system. The deadline for all application materials is January 1, 2019. In addition to the application materials required by the PhORCAS system, the Mission Hospital PGY1 Residency Programs require the following:

  • Letter of Intent/Personal Statement: It allows the reviewers of your application to get some insight into you as a person — your achievements, your obstacles, your goals and your values. It should also demonstrate your knowledge of the program, including how you learned about the PGY1 program, what program elements interest you most and how each of these relate to your personal goals.
  • Electronic Reference Form: Please ask your reference writers to include descriptive comments in the program-specific comments section on the reference form in the PhORCAS online application. We do not need a separate reference letter.
  • Eligibility for NC licensure: Preference is to have residents licensed by July 1, 2019.
